Aromatherapy For The Bathroom - Bathroom Design Ideas

Use Aromatherapy and Candles For the Ultimate Bathroom Experience

When you think of a long, relaxing soak in the tub, what is the first thing that pops into your mind? If it isn't the very first thing, bathroom aromatherapy and candles is probably in the top three. Aromatherapy is a great way to relax. Combine it with a nice, hot bath and you have a sure fire way to recharge your tired body.

Aromatherapy in the Tub

There are so many aromatherapy products to be used in the tub that the choices are downright overwhelming. You can use bubble bath, essential oils straight from the bottle, bath oils, bath salts and soaps. Then, you need to decide which scents you want. Before you throw up your hands and opt to take baths without aromatherapy, you may want to try an aromatherapy bath kit. These kits usually include several aromatherapy options, so you can decide which is your favorite.

Aromatherapy with Candles

Using aromatherapy candles is a great option for people who want to enjoy bathroom aromatherapy, but don't like cleaning slimy residue out of their tubs or are concerned about the effect on their plumbing from all of all that slippery stuff going down the drain. You can burn several candles of the same scent or choose several scents that go well together to create your own custom smell.

Aromatherapy Scents

Most people agree that certain aromatherapy scents help your body relax, while other scents reinvigorate you. For a bath that can help you get ready to sleep, look for lavender, chamomile, vanilla, or lemon scents. For a bath that gets you ready to face a long day, look for peppermint, spearmint, rosemary, or clary sage scents.

However, when you shop for products for bathroom aromatherapy and candles with aromatherapy scents, keep in mind that all aromatherapy products are not created equal. To get the most for your money when shopping for these products you should:

* Look at the ingredients listing to see where the essential oils show up. If they are last on the list or don't appear at all because the product uses artificial scents instead, look for a product that places them more prominently on the ingredients list.

If you are shopping for candles, make sure the ones you buy do not have lead wicks. Lead wicks are potentially dangerous when used around children. Although it doesn't seem possible that people still manufacture wicks with lead in them, they do still sometimes show up on store shelves.

* Look for soy candles that have the essential oils mixed the whole way through the wax. Soy burns cleaner and the scent will remain right up to the candle's last flame.
